Brand Story
Heritage
e15 takes its name from the postal code of its first workshop in London's East End, where the first four e15 tables were designed and produced. The brand was founded by architect Philipp Mainzer and has been developing original products since 1995. A radical, new simplicity marked the debut of the collection, and design classics such as the table BIGFOOT™ (1994) and the stool BACKENZAHN™ (1996) established its reputation for the pioneering use of solid wood in its purest form.

Philosophy
e15 stands for consistent, progressive design coupled with high-grade materials, refined craftsmanship and sustainable manufacturing. Oak is a fundamental material for the brand, surface finishes are kept as natural as possible, and most wood finishes are only oiled. Mono-materialism, regional production and solid wood from sustainable sources, primarily from Germany, support a circular economy.

Iconic Works
- BIGFOOT™ table and BACKENZAHN™ stool by Philipp Mainzer
- Collaborations with David Chipperfield, Stefan Diez, David Thulstrup and others
- Reissues of designs by Ferdinand Kramer and Richard Herre, German architects of 1920s Modernism
Today
A family-owned company headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, e15 is led by Philipp Mainzer with designer and art director Farah Ebrahimi. It works with specialised workshops primarily in Germany, runs a flagship showroom in Frankfurt and an in-house architectural team, and sells through more than 600 retail partners on five continents as well as its own online shop.
