Story

A cabinet that changes when opened

Philipp Mainzer designed ARAQ in 2011 as a bar cabinet whose closed volume conceals its fitted interior. e15 describes two folding hatches, with one serving as a work surface after the cabinet is opened.

Part of a storage composition

The polished inlay holds a sliding tray and can be lifted out for cleaning. e15 also identifies ARAQ as a complement to the SHAHNAZ sideboard and MAHNAZ chest of drawers, allowing the compact cabinet to join a larger storage arrangement.
