Overview
BACKENZAHN STEEL is Philipp Mainzer's metal reinterpretation of his 1996 BACKENZAHN side table. e15 retains the original's distinctive silhouette while rebuilding it in folded stainless steel.
Construction
The table has a single-piece form. e15 offers polished and brushed stainless steel, a polished brass-plated treatment, and two powder-coated finishes. All five treatments share the same folded construction.

Story
A steel iteration
BACKENZAHN STEEL returns to Philipp Mainzer's 1996 BACKENZAHN side table through a different construction. Rather than transferring the original material specification, e15 describes this model as a new iteration crafted from folded stainless steel.

The manufacturer says the metal version maintains the distinctive silhouette and sculptural presence of the earlier design. Polished, brushed, brass-plated and powder-coated treatments place the folded form at the centre of this edition.
