Brand Story
Heritage
B&B Italia was established in 1966 through the entrepreneurial vision of Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, who first founded C&B as a joint venture with Cassina. Its modern industrial and technological approach shook the world of upholstered furniture: projects such as Coronado by Afra and Tobia Scarpa paired an iron frame with cold-moulded polyurethane foam, a technology B&B Italia introduced to the furnishing sector.
Philosophy
The company's stated mission is to create innovative, iconic and timeless design furniture through the best creative minds, its own R&D, industrial know-how and Made in Italy quality. Its values are summed up as bold, contemporary, innovative and visionary, and it treats durability itself as a form of sustainability.

Iconic Works
Gaetano Pesce's UP series (1969), sold compressed in a vacuum pack, became an icon of modernity. B&B Italia has won the Compasso d'Oro several times, including for Mario Bellini's Le Bambole (1979) and Antonio Citterio's Sity (1987), and in 1989 became the first company to receive the award as a manufacturer. Antonio Citterio's Charles sofa (1997) remains one of its best-known systems.

Today
Headquartered in Novedrate, near Como, B&B Italia is part of the Flos B&B Italia Group alongside brands such as Maxalto, Azucena and Arclinea. Around 80% of revenues come from abroad, and its contract division serves residential, hospitality, corporate, marine and retail projects. Products are sold through B&B Italia stores, authorised dealers and its official online shop.
