Description

Overview

Lemante is a collection of small tables designed by Kensaku Oshiro in 2023, rich in striking stylistic signs. Its forms refer to organic shapes found in nature set against the more essential lines of the frame, and its geometry comes from two parallel squares rotated and offset by 45°.

Construction

The frame is die-cast tubular aluminium with a corner joint made as an aluminium casting. The upper top is glass, either extra light transparent or molten glass with an organic, irregular surface. The lower top is MDF wood fibre or marble in a natural finish.

Specifications

Frame: die-cast tubular aluminium. Upper top: glass. Lower top: MDF wood fibre or marble (natural finish).

Story

Oshiro's two squares

Lemante rests on one simple geometric idea: two parallel squares, rotated and offset by 45°. The collection is described as replete with striking stylistic signs and carries a strong biographical note for its creator, the Japanese designer Kensaku Oshiro.

Nature against the frame

Organic forms found in nature are juxtaposed with the more essential lines of the frame, a slender structure joined at the corners by an aluminium casting. Molten glass tops carry organic textures and irregularities that give a distinct tactile effect.
