Origin
Camaleonda is a modular sofa system by Mario Bellini. B&B Italia's page and sheet present its current version, headed 2020, and say that it keeps the elements that made the sofa an iconic piece of furniture.
Design Language
Certain elements stay faithful to the original project: the 90x90 cm seat module, the backrest and armrest, and the characteristic capitonné design. The capitonné is still made with the system of cables, hooks and rings that Bellini created in 1970. B&B Italia names unlimited modularity as the fundamental characteristic: each element becomes a sort of enormous pixel through which to define the home, and the modules can be unhooked and recombined at will.
