Story
The last Eames Office piece
Herman Miller's design story names the sofa as the final piece of furniture the Eames Office produced. Work on the design was finished after Charles Eames died in 1978, and production began in 1984.

A complement to the Soft Pad Group
The design story says Charles and Ray Eames designed the sofa to complement their plush soft pad chairs and the sleek chaise.
