Elevated wire shell
The Eames Wire Stool Outdoor extends the bent and welded wire shell to bar- and counter-height seating. Herman Miller describes it as a direct descendant of the Eames Office's experiments with a single-shell chair form and a unique iteration in that form's continued evolution.
Exterior construction
A powder-coated wire shell sits on an elongated four-leg base with a footrest. Official product imagery and captions document black and white finishes as well as both bar-height and counter-height versions.
Story
From chair experiments to stool
The Eames Office developed a bent and welded wire interpretation of its single-shell chair idea during the 1950s. The outdoor stool translates that open shell into a taller configuration rather than reproducing the proportions of the chair.
Two working heights
Herman Miller positions the versions for bar- and counter-height surfaces. The elongated four-leg base and integrated footrest support those elevated seat heights, while powder coating supplies the stated outdoor durability.
