Description
Overview
Vitra introduces the EA 223 as the footrest for the EA 222 lounge chair: sitters put their feet up on it while relaxing. Charles and Ray Eames are credited, and the covers, leather or fabric, come in a broad palette of colours.

Construction
The seat does not swivel and carries one sewn-on cushion with a polyurethane foam core under a fabric or leather cover. The side profiles, spreaders and four-star foot are cast aluminium with a polished, chrome or powder-coated surface. The factbook shows the stool standing on glides.
Specifications
560 mm wide, 580 mm deep, 425 mm high. Covers: Laser RE, Cosy 2 and Track fabrics, plus leather and Leather Premium F with a Plano back panel. The foot has five finishes, from chrome to chalk powder coat.
Story
The stool of the pair
Vitra describes the EA 223 as the footrest for the lounge chair EA 222, and the two are presented together for long, cosy evenings with a good book. The factbook phrases the pairing as ultimate relaxation with your feet up and lists the stool as non-swivel, on a four-star base with glides.
