Description

Molded veneer shell

The Eames Molded Wood Stool uses a single-piece shell made with Herman Miller's proprietary three-dimensional veneer process. The shell is 0.260 inch thick and joins the base through nonremovable wooden shock mounts.

Counter and bar versions

The four-leg base is offered at counter and bar height. The counter stool measures 18.75 in wide, 21.75 in deep, and 40.25 in high; the bar stool is 45.5 inches high.

Veneer and seating options

Four veneer finishes appear in the current price book. The stool may remain unupholstered or receive a removable upholstered seat pad, while base and glide choices complete the specification.

Story

A wood shell realized later

Charles and Ray Eames pursued a single-shell chair in molded wood but could not execute that form during their lifetimes. Herman Miller says later three-dimensional veneer technology made the compound curves possible; the resulting shell is also used for this elevated stool.

One shell, two base heights

The stool translates the molded wood form to counter and bar settings. Its current programme combines four veneers with three base finishes and an optional removable seat pad.
