Biography
Background
Piero Lissoni was born on 23 July 1956 in Seregno, Italy, and studied at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He started out with kitchen and bathroom designs for Boffi in the mid-1980s and in 1986 founded the studio Lissoni & Partners in Milan with Nicoletta Canesi. Signature Style
His studio describes its work as inspired by rigour and simplicity, with close regard to detail, coherence and elegance and scrupulous attention to proportion and harmony. As art director he shapes the whole identity of companies such as Alpi, Boffi, Living Divani, Lualdi, Porro and Sanlorenzo, designing products as well as showrooms and stands.

For Living Divani, where he has been art director since 1988, he designed the Extrasoft modular sofa (2008), whose Extrasoft Bed won Wallpaper*'s Best Sleepover award in 2017. His architecture and interiors include the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam (2012), the Teatro Nazionale in Milan (2009), The Middle House in Shanghai (2018), the Shangri-La Shougang Park in Beijing (2021) and yacht interiors for Sanlorenzo.
