The Matic Sofa Collection is Piero Lissoni's modular sofa for Knoll, built from components like architectural building blocks into four configurations with adjustable curved backrests.
Construction
- Aluminium frame, glossy or charcoal painted
- Seat on a wood base with elastic webbing and variable-density polyurethane padding
- Curved backrest ends that bend to two additional positions; arms and back on a metal structure with polyurethane foam

Story
An island-like platform

Backrests that bend
An internal mechanism lets each side of the curved backrests be bent to a choice of two additional positions, which Knoll says gives added comfort for relaxation or conversation.
