Living Divani is an Italian company founded in 1969 from an intuition of Renata Pozzoli and Luigi Bestetti. From the early 1970s the family-owned company, based in Brianza, the heart of the Italian furniture district, made upholstery its trademark and followed a clear path to become one of the landmarks of the design landscape.

Philosophy

The company names perfect, harmonious proportions and a feeling of understated luxury as its distinguishing features, and describes itself as consistently faithful to a philosophy of rigour and clean lines. Since 1988 Piero Lissoni has led its style in the dual role of art director and designer. Production balances technical innovation and craft skills: fabrics and leathers are inspected before cutting, cut on a computerised system, finished in the sewing department and checked again after assembly.

Iconic Works

The collection orbits around the upholstery system for indoor and outdoor use, alongside a bed collection and complements such as chairs, coffee tables, small armchairs, tables, bookcases, storage units and carpets. Piero Lissoni's Extrasoft modular sofa (2008) and its later bed, outdoor and storage pieces are among the company's best-known designs.

Today

Carola Bestetti, the second generation, has been CEO since 2020 and has opened the catalogue to international designers and young talents who share the company's "silent elegance". Living Divani joined Altagamma in 2012, opened the Living Divani Gallery in Milan, designed by Piero Lissoni, in September 2020, and sells through more than 450 high-end points of sale worldwide, with exports above 80% of turnover. It also works for the contract sector, from offices and hotels to airports, museums and the nautical industry.
