Overview
Rod System is the modular version of Rod, designed by Piero Lissoni in 2016 for Living Divani. Its back is slender, the shell light and airy, and the cushions carry quilted details and buttons at sight. Elements combine into different spatial solutions and original compositions.
Construction
A frame of lacquered drawn steel tube carries the seat, with rubber-coated elastic straps woven crosswise as suspension under polyurethane foam. Backs and arms rest on layered HPL panel. Back and seat cushions are zipped to each other. Both hold goose down that has been pre-washed and sterilised, kept in stitched chambers around a core of polyurethane foam. Buttons show on the quilted seat cushions unless a button-free quilting is requested. Armrest cushions sit on a poplar plywood panel attached with plug-in hinges. Foot options are AISI 304 stainless steel with a polished or a matt satin surface, and steel painted burnished, Gunmetal Grey or matt black; adjustable plastic tips end them. A table for compositions with an MDF structure and a Stone Oak® top is made for compositions.
Specifications
Overall size: 100 x 86 x 70 cm (Terminal Element).
Story
Elements and compositions
Rod System is built from terminal, central and corner elements, elements with a backrest, long seats, a footrest, a table for compositions and loose cushions.
Buttons, feet and assembly
Buttons come in a light and a dark variant, normally chosen to suit the cover; contrasting ones can be ordered. Standard feet are tubular stainless steel, Ø1.5 cm, or Ø2.2 cm on request. Hooks supplied with the product join the modular elements, and standard configurations always include terminal elements with an armrest.
