Description

Overview

The LC9 Tabouret (9 Tabouret) is a stool credited to Charlotte Perriand. The product sheet dates the design to 1927 and Cassina's production to 2012. The page calls it a historic design stool whose architectural shape reflects the designer's love of conceptual harmony. It measures 51 cm wide, 38 cm deep and 46 cm high.

Construction

The frame is tubular steel, polished chrome or painted, with paint colours from the price list; the sheet gives the current model's structure as trivalent chrome-plated steel. The seat is saddle-hide leather or rattan cane, and the feet are plastic.

Story

Perriand's dining-room stool

The sheet says Perriand designed the first version in 1927 for the dining room of her Paris atelier. It had a tubular metal structure and a woven rattan seat.

The current model

Cassina's present version has a trivalent chrome-plated steel structure and can be ordered with different coverings; the sheet names cowhide and the classic rattan. Cassina lists the stool inside the collection of work by the three designers.
