Description

Elevated shell seating

The Eames Molded Fiberglass Stool combines a single-piece fiberglass shell with a four-leg steel base for counter- or bar-height surfaces. Herman Miller added the counter stool to the fiberglass collection in 2015.

Two heights

The counter-height version measures 18.75 in wide, 21.5 in deep, and 40.5 in high. The bar-height version retains the same width and depth while rising to 45.25 inches. Nonupholstered, seat-pad, and fully upholstered versions appear in the official statement of line.

Story

A new height for the shell

The stool extends Charles and Ray Eames's adaptable shell format beyond chair height. Its base follows the geometry of the original four-leg chair base.

Fiberglass reintroduced

Herman Miller describes a less volatile, monomer-free dry-bind process for the shell. The official store records that the fiberglass collection gained its counter-height stool in 2015.
