Overview
D.655.1 and D.655.2 are chests of drawers by Gio Ponti, designed in several versions between 1952 and 1955. Molteni&C produces the new version from original drawings kept in the Gio Ponti Archives, under the art direction of Studio Cerri & Associati. The page lists them as single units.
Construction
Per the datasheet, the structure, base and back use layered poplar board under elm veneer, and the fronts are medium density fibreboard hand brush painted in white acrylic. The handles are solid abura wood with veneer in Italian walnut, elm, rosewood or mahogany. The elmwood frame rests on adjustable satin brass feet with felt, and the datasheet states that wall attachment is mandatory.

Painted fronts and wooden handles
The page describes a delicate interplay between hand-painted white drawer fronts and rich wood accents. Each drawer carries an applied handle from a selection of elm, Italian walnut, mahogany and rosewood, and the elmwood frame rests on satin brass feet.
