Story

From Gio Ponti's house in Via Dezza

The Molteni&C page says Gio Ponti designed D.555.1 between 1954 and 1955 for his own home in Via Dezza in Milan, and that the table never reached mass production at the time. Molteni&C produces it from the original drawings held by the Gio Ponti Archives.

Part of the Heritage Collection

Molteni&C's Heritage Collection page lists D.555.1 among the collection's coffee tables and presents it with Ponti's house objects in Via Dezza: a small table, a library and an armchair that, in its words, show no gap between his personal appeals and his architectural vision.
