Overview
The Crate Lounge Chair sits low and is made of solid pine, with supportive armrests. HAY and Rietveld Originals have relaunched the Crate series, which Gerrit Rietveld designed. The seat and back slope gently.

Story
A lounge seat from the Crate series
Gerrit Rietveld designed the Crate series so that surplus wooden shipping crates could be used. The lounge chair is part of the relaunch by Rietveld Originals and HAY, made with respect for the original design and with the same balanced proportions.
Sloping seat and back
The seat and back slope gently and the armrests are supportive. Spatial design of the kind found in Rietveld's architecture shapes the chair, which offers comfort without absorbing space.
