Story
Built from shipping crates
Gerrit Rietveld designed the Crate series to make use of surplus wooden shipping crates. Rietveld Originals and HAY have relaunched it, and the dining chair keeps to the original design with its transparent construction and carefully balanced proportions.
Armrests and a sloping back
The dining chair has a gently sloping back and supportive armrests. Its simplicity and spatial design reflect the architectural style of Rietveld, giving functionality and comfort without absorbing space.
