Description
Overview
The Aluminium Chairs EA 131 and EA 132 by Charles and Ray Eames have, according to Vitra, an adjustable tilt mechanism and an upright seat adapted to desk work. Without castors they do not have the appearance of task chairs. The EA 132 is slightly narrower than the EA 131; the two models differ only in width.

Construction
The tab lists a backward tilt that can be locked in the forward position, continuous gas-spring height adjustment, a four-star base with plastic glides for carpet or felt glides for hard floors, and die-cast aluminium side profiles, spreaders and armrests.
Specifications
The EA 132, the variant the configurator opens on, is 560 mm wide, up to 620 mm deep and up to 900 mm high. The wider EA 131 measures 580 mm across and reaches 680 mm in depth and 910 mm in height.
Story
Designed without castors
Vitra introduces the EA 131 and EA 132 as chairs for the home office: with an upright seat and a tilt mechanism, but without the castors of a task chair. The factbook counts them among the models Vitra added for home working, together with the Soft Pad Chair EA 231.
Wide and narrow
The only difference between the two is width, the EA 131 being the wide and the EA 132 the narrow version.
