Background
Roberto Sironi is an Italian designer based in Milan. According to Tacchini's designer page, his studio was founded in 2015 and works in product design, strategic research and consultancy, collaborating with galleries, companies, private clients and institutions.
Signature Style
Tacchini says his work fuses research and craft to make objects that blur the line between function and sculpture, artefacts that act as narrative tools able to connect with the public. In a quote on the page he distinguishes the product, tied to serial industrial production, from the artefact, which carries subjective qualities and stays suspended between sculpture, furniture and micro-architecture.
Notable Works
The Tacchini page lists Brut, Cassero, PietraForma, Colonna and, as a limited edition, Torso. Brut is described there as Tacchini's first project with him.
Legacy
Alongside design practice he teaches at the Politecnico di Milano, where Tacchini says he researches new design technologies and is an adjunct professor in the Department of Design.
