Description
Overview
Colonna is a pair of side and coffee tables by Roberto Sironi for Tacchini, at once sculptural and functional. They meet at the crossing of design, material and everyday gesture, and they adapt to their setting and to the sensory experience they are meant to evoke.
Construction
A wood internal structure sits on a lacquered wood base. The external structure has a mirrored finish, and the top is marble.
Specifications
The two tables carry the codes 0CLNTB01 and 0CLNTB02.
Story
An architectural archetype
Colonna reinterprets the architectural archetype from which it takes its name as a pair of side and coffee tables. Roberto Sironi combines function, narrative and sculpture in them.
Mirror and marble
The prismatic structure is clad in shaped mirrored glass, which reflects the surrounding environment and fragments its image. The material depth of the marble top adds a balance between monumentality, lightness and abstraction. The tables turn the archetype into a minimal and rigorous gesture.
