Overview
Brut is a side table by Roberto Sironi, and Tacchini's first project with the designer. Tacchini presents it as a table with strong references to Art Brut and to Brutalist architecture, in its volumes as well as in its materials, where the material prevails and dominates the forms.
Construction
The top is cast aluminium. The base is coloured concrete with adjustable feet, available in grey cement or white cement.
Specifications
The reference model, code 0BRTTB130, measures 130 W x 110 D x 34 H cm.
Story
Art Brut and Brutalism
Tacchini describes Brut as a table with strong references to Art Brut, spontaneous and informal, and to Brutalist architecture, in the accentuated and massive volumes and in concrete, a material that can be only partially controlled.
A processual object
The low table is made with a cast aluminium top and concrete legs. Tacchini calls it a processual object in which the material prevails over the forms, and quotes Sironi on sharing with the company a desire to experiment and go beyond conventions in search of an authentic aesthetic.
