Description
Overview
Cassero is a pair of side tables by Roberto Sironi for Tacchini. They are architectural concrete blocks whose tactile surface recalls wood grain.
Construction
The structure is coloured concrete, in two blocks of perfect scale. The surfaces are irregular, with careful chromatic research. The tables bring an architectural mark into the living environment.
Specifications
A low table of 110 x 70 cm and a low table of 85 x 85 cm. Two colours are listed, one for each size.
Story
Formwork as a model
Roberto Sironi reinterprets the materiality of concrete in Cassero. The two side tables recall the natural grain of raw wood, the material of the formwork (cassero) that holds concrete in place while it sets.
Essential forms
The two forms are essential and rigorous, in perfect scale. Irregular surfaces and chromatic research bring an architectural mark in the living environment. Sironi says: "With Tacchini, we share the same desire to experiment—to go beyond conventions and norms, in search of an authentic aesthetic that naturally emerges from the transformation process of the material."
