Description
Overview
Family Chair is a collection of five chairs designed by Junya Ishigami in 2010. Living Divani describes the group through a remarkable magnified optical effect and calls the objects light and practical in their harmony. The technical sheet covers indoor and outdoor versions.
Construction
The structure uses 12 mm steel rod, curved by a numerical-control machine, with acrylic-fibre layers. Legs are made from 15 mm steel rod and welded with internal reinforcement. A 4 mm steel-wire seat mesh uses a 40 × 40 mm diagonal weave.
Specifications
The saved drawing identifies five variants, Chair A through Chair E. Its dimensional figures are not assigned to named axes in the saved sheet; the specification leaves those figures unassigned. The outdoor version uses cataphoresis coating for the standard finish and epoxy-polyester powder coating in RAL 9016 White. Cushions are optional and fully removable by zippers.
Story
Five related forms
Living Divani presents Family Chair as five different chairs rather than one fixed silhouette. The technical sheet names the variants Chair A, B, C, D and E, with separate cushion drawings.
Indoor and outdoor construction
The product page dates the design to 2010 and describes the chairs as light objects. The technical sheet extends the structure to outdoor use through cataphoresis and powder coatings, while indoor cushions use polyurethane foam and acrylic fibre layers and outdoor cushions use outdoor fabrics.
