Description

Overview

Sumo Table is a Piero Lissoni design for Living Divani, dated 2021. The low table comes in wood or marble and invites a rediscovery of the pleasure of materiality through refined plays of juxtapositions.

Construction

The supporting frame is 20 x 30 mm tubular steel with Gunmetal Grey epoxy powder coating. The bevelled top is 20 mm MDF veneered and edged in Canaletto Walnut and finished with water-based acrylic paint, with the edge and bottom always lacquered matt black. The top is also made in glossy lacquer in five colours, with bevelled edge and bottom in the same colour, or in 20 mm marble in five variants with a satin finish under an opaque transparent protective varnish, or a matt or glossy polyester finish. Every version of the top is screwed to the base. Floor contact is by plastic supports with swappable tips, in black plastic or felt.

Specifications

The table has four components: container external sides, container internal sides with edges and bottom, supporting frame and bracket, and top. Matching containers are MDF of variable thickness, with the external sides alone veneered in Canaletto Walnut and the upper edges, internal sides and bottom edges in glossy lacquer. The bracket, in Gunmetal Grey tubular steel, measures Ø25 mm and 21 cm in height.
