Description
Overview
The Soft Pad Chair EA 231 is the home-office model of the Eames Soft Pad Group. Vitra gives it an upright seat angle adapted to desk work and an adjustable tilt, and builds it without castors, so it does not resemble a typical task chair.

Story
A home-office Soft Pad
Vitra dates the EA 231 to 1969 and presents it as its Soft Pad model for working at home. The fact book describes its seat as upright and adapted to desk work, and its look as understated and relaxed because it has no castors.

Plastic glides suit carpet and felt glides suit hard floors, as the material description puts it.
