Overview
Piero Lissoni designed the Lipp bed for Living Divani in 2015. Its headboard carries a sartorial detail that works as a stylistic code and as a soft element to lean against, and the classic, purified image of the bed is made modern by the sharp cut of its shapes.
Construction
The headboard structure is multilayer poplar and double-panelled fir wood, padded with polyurethane foam and acrylic fibres, with a polyether lining (100%) on a thermofixed polyamide velveteen backing and an outer cover of needle-treated, resin-finished polyester fibre. The headrest is inset in the headboard and padded in polyurethane foam of differentiated density, with a capitonné detail, and its leather or fabric upholstery is non-removable. The bedstead chassis is 70x20 mm tubular steel, powder-coated black with epoxy polyester, made of two parts joined by plates and screws; the padded bedstead structure is screwed onto it. The feet are 15x15 mm drawn-steel square section with a burnished powder coating, set in bushings welded to the chassis and finished at the floor with adjustable black plastic tips. The slat base support is glass-filled ABS, adjustable in height.
Specifications
Overall height: 111 cm. Feet finish: burnished painting. Upholstery: fabric or leather.
Story
A headboard with a tailored finish
Lipp Bed is Piero Lissoni's 2015 bed for Living Divani. Its character sits in the headboard, where an inset headrest is worked with a capitonné detail and the sartorial finish is both a stylistic code and a soft element to lean against.
Structure behind the upholstery
Behind the upholstery, the headboard is multilayer poplar with double-panelled fir wood, and the bedstead sits on a tubular steel chassis in two parts with a black powder coating. On the fabric version the perimeter stitching is finished with grosgrain edging, and the leather version uses braided leather trim in the same finish.
