Overview
Lipp Armchair is a 2015 armchair by Piero Lissoni for Living Divani. The official page calls it a precious cocooning that envelops you in a refined covering with diamond-shaped quilting.
Construction
The supporting frame is multilayer poplar wood, padded with differentiated-density polyurethane foam and acrylic fibre layers with a capitonné detail. The seat chassis is solid fir, sprung with cross-woven coated rubber elastic straps. Seat cushions are filled with prewashed, sterilized goose down in separate compartments around a polyurethane foam insert. Tubular steel feet are joined by a 15 x 15 mm square-section bracket in burnished epoxy powder coating, with adjustable black plastic tips.
Specifications
The technical drawing gives 77, 67 and 75 cm (axes not labelled on the drawing), with 44 and 20 cm marked beside the side view. Seat depth is 61 cm and the loose cushion is drawn at 50 by 40 cm.
Story
An armchair with an outer shell option
Besides the quilted upholstery, the technical sheet lists a Lipp Rattan version in which the outer shell is covered in rattan with an acrylic painting finish. The frame upholstery is non-removable in both leather and fabric versions, as it is on the rattan version, while the seat cushion upholstery comes off with zippers.
Capitonné and its limit
The sheet notes one restriction on the quilted detail: capitonné cannot be done with Cuoietto leather.
