Description

Overview

The Kashima Armchair is the one-place seat of the Kashima model, designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset and described as the "comfortable Chesterfield". It is offered in 26 materials.

Construction

Foam of two densities, 21 kg/m³ and 28 kg/m³ polyether, makes up the whole body, which is clad in 480 g/m² quilted polyester. High resilience polyurethane Bultex foam in two grades forms the seat and backrest, with a hyper soft foam on top. Twin-needle overstitching runs along every seam and the buttoning, and an upholsterer can remove the cover.

Specifications

Overall size: 1,030 x 1,000 x 750 mm (W x D x H). Seat height 380 mm, weight 20 kg, seats 1 place.

Story

English comfort in an all-foam seat

Kashima is presented as offering classic customers "English" comfort. Generous shapes give the all-foam seat a reassuring image. Beneath its agreeable look, the armrests, lumbar support and headrest are integrated into rounded, curved forms.

Buttoning and pinched seams

Tie rods, invisible because they sit inside the foam, make the buttoning. A touch of fantasy accompanies the classic shapes: at the corners the quilted cover has "pinched" seams with interior laces behind them, and the seat is nest-shaped so that the user sits wedged at the sides.
