Echoo Armchair

Overview

Piero Lissoni designed the Echoo armchair for Living Divani in 2024. It brings back the dialogue of shell and cushions found in the Echoo sofa: a harmonious whole that invites enveloping comfort.

Construction

The structure combines poplar plywood, fir wood and chipboard, and the seat frame is steel with an epoxy polyester powder finish. Cross-woven elastic straps of coated rubber suspend the seat. Polyurethane foam padding has a lining of 100% polyether, thermo-fixed and bonded to polyamide velveteen, while the seat cushion uses differentiated-density foam in a cover of needle-treated, resin-finished polyester fibre. Foam of differentiated density also fills the armrest and backrest cushions, wrapped in a mattress pad of goose down that is pre-washed, sterilised and divided into stitched compartments. Steel tubular feet of 15 mm diameter, in Gunmetal Grey, are screwed into the seat frame through a bushing, above adjustable black plastic tips. Fabric or leather upholstery comes off entirely, with zippers and Velcro fastenings.

The Echoo armchair is the sofa's shell-and-cushions dialogue in armchair form, a harmonious whole meant to invite enveloping comfort. Poplar plywood, fir wood and chipboard make the structure, and a steel frame carries the seat.

Cushions and feet

Goose down fills the armrest and backrest cushions. The feet are 15 mm steel tubes in Gunmetal Grey, with adjustable black plastic tips beneath them.
