Eric Jourdan was born in Chatou in 1961. He graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Saint Etienne and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Background
Eric Jourdan was born in Chatou in 1961. He graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Saint Etienne and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Signature Style
He began working with the gallery Neotu, and the Cartier Foundation gave him a solo exhibition in 1991. A 1995 study for the 'Carte blanche VIA' started from a piece of bridging furniture. Galerie Gilles Peyroulet et cie shows several of his furniture collections, and in 2002 he created signage for the cité universitaire internationale de Paris together with Ruedi Baur.
Notable Works
His Ligne Roset work includes the Utopia, Postmoderne, Karuma, Hyannis port, Alando, Aston, Rumaki, Tadao and Somerset ranges, together with the U-turn floor standard lamp and the Liam low table. The Hyannis Port collection is among his designs for Cinna.
Legacy
He has worked with Ligne Roset since 2002, and the Red Dot Design Award came with the Snowdonia settee. A number of his upholstery and furniture models have joined the Ligne Roset collection; the Shaman armchair is the most recent.
