Origin
Pavilion is a furniture series by Anderssen & Voll for &Tradition, named after the Langelinie Pavilion overlooking Copenhagen's waterfront. The chair AV1 came first; a desk, AV16 and AV17, followed in 2021, tables, AV18, AV19 and AV24, in 2022, and stools and a sled-base side chair in 2025.
Design Language
According to the releases, the Langelinie Pavilion was destroyed several times before the architect couple Eva and Niels Koppel rebuilt it in the 1950s as an homage to the modernist movement, a cubic, glass-fronted building. Its airy feel and graceful lines are mirrored in the later pieces: a rectangular surface carried by bent steel tubes that curve down into splayed legs.
