起源
iMaestriは、Cassinaが20世紀の名作家具を復刻したシリーズに付けた名称です。Cassinaのページによれば、このコレクションは1973年以来同社が採用してきた手法、すなわち歴史的なデザインを真正性と文化への敬意をもって再解釈する方法から生まれたとされています。同社は、このコレクションを50年前に正式に発表されたものとして紹介しており、そのプロセスは1965年に始まりました。当時、Le Corbusier、Pierre Jeanneret、Charlotte Perriandの3名のデザイナーによる最初の4モデルが量産化されました。
デザインの特徴
ページに挙げられているデザイナーは、Giacomo Balla、Ico Parisi、Marco Zanuso、Le Corbusier、Franco Albini、Charlotte Perriand、Erik Gunnar Asplund、Charles Rennie Mackintosh、Gerrit Thomas Rietveldの9名です。2023年の50周年の際には、Vico Magistretti、Gio Ponti、Carlo Scarpaが加わり、Charles and Ray Eamesは2024年の照明コレクション発表に先立って参加しました。
