Story
A 1964 design returns
The page calls the 905 a modern chair with a cultural heritage, and credits it to the creative genius of Vico Magistretti, who designed it in 1964. According to the sheet, Cassina produced it until 2000 and has now relaunched it, drawing the updated finishes and details from the archive model.
Seat and belt
The sheet singles out two features. The seat is self-supporting and cut from a single piece of saddle leather, which is curved and fitted into the frame. The decorative stitching has been dropped, and the back of the chair keeps a leather belt that supports the back and adds to its comfort.
