Overview
The Shiny Gogan coffee table is by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso, from 2024. Its shape is slightly irregular, which keeps its elements in balance, and the whole table carries a glossy lacquered finish.
Construction
A lightweight composite structure combines polymeric and wooden materials. The legs are MDF and are screwed to that structure.

Story
Stones in balance
Shiny Gogan, Patricia Urquiola's coffee table from 2024, takes its cue from stones sculpted by wind and water, at once solid and soft. Stones in a sculpture stay in equilibrium through their interlocking positions, and here a slightly irregular shape does the balancing, so that shapes that would look heavy gain lightness.
A light structure with a gloss skin
Under the paint sits a lightweight composite of polymeric and wooden materials, with MDF legs screwed to it. A glossy lacquer covers the table, and the finish is offered in three colours.
