Description

Overview

The Gogan coffee table is a design by Patricia Urquiola, 2020, filed by Moroso under Low tables. The design is reminiscent of stones that wind and water have sculpted: solid, yet soft at the same time.

Construction

The top comes with a marble or glass finish. The marble is polished and 20 mm thick; the glass is 12 mm thick, etched and painted. The base is varnished lamellar ash wood, and the feet are joined by a black-painted steel frame.

Story

Stones in equilibrium

Moroso likens the coffee table to stone sculptures, in which stones remain in equilibrium because of their interlocking positions. Here the elements are balanced through a slightly irregular shape.

Heavy forms made light

By playing with gravity and balance, forms that should be heavy achieve lightness. The table evokes natural shapes through soft volumes and organic forms, and its distinctive structural buttresses enhance the visual balance, giving it a strong aesthetic and architectural presence.
