Description
Overview
The Gogan sofa is a design by Patricia Urquiola, 2019, listed under Sofas in the Moroso range. Its seats are soft and irregular, and the centre of gravity inclines slightly towards the rear, which allows the backrest to be kept lower.
Construction
The backrest has a wooden and wooden-derived structure with polyurethane foam in differentiated densities. The seat rests on a wooden and wooden-derived base with a belted seat, and the compositions feature a supporting steel structure. Black polypropylene glides are screwed to the structure. The covers are removable, except in the leather versions.

Story
Named after river stones
Gogan is the name of the Japanese stones placed along the banks of rivers and lakes to protect and embellish them, and seating takes up the same idea: harmony between the elements comes from their not-so-regular shape, their joints and their position.
Soft seats, lower backrest
The soft, irregular seats lean their centre of gravity slightly towards the rear, which makes them exceptionally comfortable and lets the backrest stay low. Abutments join backrest and seat, giving the sofa a sense of lightness, as if it were suspended above the ground.
