Overview
The Compasso d'Oro Edition of Gaetano Pesce's Serie Up armchair commemorates the XXVII Compasso d'Oro Product Career Award 2022. B&B Italia limits it to 500 numbered pieces: armchair UP5_6 covered in the exclusive CD fabric in antique gold, joined by an aluminium chain with corten finish to a spherical ottoman in bronze fabric. The design dates from 1969, while the page headline gives 2023.

Construction
The edition is built of cold shaped flexible polyurethane foam, with an underside in jute (100%) and PVC trim, a cover button combining metal and fabric, a thick leather button below, and an anodized aluminium chain.

Model UP5_6CD: 120 cm wide, 130 cm deep, 103 cm high; ottoman: diameter and height both 57 cm.
Story
A career award for a product
The company calls Serie Up a famous icon of international contemporary design and says it was given ADI's XXVII Compasso d'Oro career award for a product in 2022. Per the sheet, Gaetano Pesce designed the series in 1969.
Five hundred numbered chairs
In tribute to what it names the anthropomorphic armchair, B&B Italia offers a limited edition of just 500 numbered pieces, finished in antique gold fabric with a bronze ottoman on an aluminium chain.
