Overview
The Paravento Risacca is a screen designed by Gaetano Pesce in 2023 in which waves breaking on the shore become a work of art. It is a limited edition produced in nine numbered exemplars, and a Bluetooth speaker in the base recreates the sound of the sea.
Construction
Three individual polyurethane resin panels are attached to six brass bases. Each panel is made by casting a transparent resin in a wooden mould, an effect Cassina compares to oil painting, so that the artist's brush strokes are impressed on the material. The screen is hand-crafted through a series of manual processes that make its details unique.

Story
The sea in resin
In the Paravento Risacca, Gaetano Pesce represents the lapping of waves on the shore. Cassina presents it as a work of art that portrays the colours of the sea and recreates its sound through a Bluetooth speaker located in the base.
Nine numbered exemplars
The screen is hand-crafted in nine numbered exemplars. Its three panels come from casting transparent resin in a wooden mould, which impresses every brush stroke of the artist on the material and gives the work a three-dimensional quality that makes each piece unique.
