Description
Overview
Feltri is an armchair by Gaetano Pesce, dated 1987 by the page headline and by the sheet. Cassina's page calls it a symbol of cutting-edge design, made with a patented Cassina production technique.
Construction
The page lists the structure as felted wool, the padding as a quilted topper with polyester batting, and the seat as attached to the structure with hemp cord. The product sheet says the chair is made entirely of thick wool felt: the wrap-around back is one pliable piece, and the lower section is rigid and impregnated with a thermoset resin.

Story
From Cassina's Research Centre
The product sheet says Feltri was created within Cassina's Research Centre, a place of experimentation and constructional avant-garde thinking, where Gaetano Pesce worked on the design and devised a complex new manufacturing process that the company later patented.
Art and function
Cassina's page describes Feltri as the result of representational research played out on the hybrid field between art and practicality, and the sheet calls it one of a kind.
