Description
Modular composition
The Rockwell Unscripted Modular Lounge by David Rockwell combines left- and right-arm chairs, armless settees in three widths, and an ottoman. Each piece can stand alone or connect with optional ganging plates.

Construction
Knoll specifies an engineered-hardwood and plywood frame, woven rubber webbing suspension, urethane foam and polyester-fibre layers. The two-sided seat cushions have pinch-pleat detailing, while removable solid-wood legs attach to steel plates.
Left-arm chair configuration
The representative UELMALO left-arm chair is 44 inches wide and 29 inches deep, with a labelled 16-inch seat height. Knoll does not publish an overall height for this module. The April 2026 price list identifies UELMALO in base-grade fabric and dates the design to 2017.
Story
Research translated into a modular seat
Knoll presents Rockwell Unscripted as the result of research conducted with David Rockwell into changing patterns of work. In the Modular Lounge, that research becomes a set of independent or connected seats that can be rearranged as a setting changes. Knoll recognised the product with an Interior Design Magazine HiP Award and a #Metropolislikes Award at NeoCon in 2016.
