Description

Overview

The Power Play Chair and Off Side Ottoman are Frank Gehry's 1990 lounge pairing for Knoll. Both use laminated hard-white-maple strips; optional pads can be upholstered in KnollTextiles or Spinneybeck leather.

Adjustable ottoman

One pair of ottoman legs locks upright for a sloped footrest, or folds underneath to create a lower rest or floor cushion. The woven chair seat flexes, and the chair back also moves.

Specifications

  • Chair: W 31.375 x D 30.125 x H 32.875 in (797 x 765 x 835 mm)
  • Ottoman: W/D 23.375 in, H 8.125-13.875 in

Story

Lounge seating in maple strips

Power Play expands Gehry's strip-built seating into a lounge chair and separate ottoman. The chair's wider footprint and 16 in seat height distinguish its stored dimensions from the side chairs in the group.

Two footrest positions

The Off Side Ottoman changes height through a folding leg pair rather than a removable part. Upright legs create a sloped footrest; folded legs lower the piece for use as a low rest or floor cushion.
