Description
Overview
The High Sticking Chair is Frank Gehry's tall-backed armless chair for Knoll, dated 1990 on the current page. Its woven seat and back are made from laminated maple veneer strips.
Construction
Seven- to nine-layer strip laminations are bonded with urea glue. Limited adhesive in the weave lets the strips flex in unison, while the back incorporates a lumbar curve. An optional square cushion uses 3/4 in high-resiliency foam.
