Story

From the PK25 to the PK22

The product page says the PK22 was designed in 1956 and evolved from Kjærholm's PK25 graduation project. The change it names is a split steel frame, which kept the sculptural clarity of the earlier chair and improved comfort and construction.

Companions since 1956

In Fritz Hansen's account the PK22 and the PK61 coffee table began as companion pieces for Kjærholm's own home. The 2026 versions of the chair carry Haze leather, which the page calls velvety soft with a stone-washed look.
