Story

Designed for the dining area of Kjærholm's own home

Fritz Hansen says Poul Kjærholm designed the PK111™ for the dining area of his own house, which his wife, the architect Hanne Kjærholm, designed as an open-plan space informed by Japanese ideas of spatial flow. At 140 cm the divider creates a sense of enclosure when seated and preserves openness when standing.

A modular screen

Kjærholm conceived it as a piece that could, in theory, extend infinitely; additional panels interlock to lengthen it.
