Description
Overview
Poul Kjærholm designed the PK0 A™ in 1952, at the beginning of his tenure at Fritz Hansen. Fritz Hansen describes it as a one-of-a-kind chair and a functional sculpture; its ribbon-like form pushed the wood-bending techniques of the time to their limits. The chair was reissued in 2022 in Oregon pine or black coloured ash, fitted with cinnabar red spacers.

Story
At the start of Kjærholm's time at Fritz Hansen
Fritz Hansen places the chair at the very beginning of Poul Kjærholm's time at the company. The fact sheet describes that first spell as about a year of employment, in which, according to the sheet, he designed several noteworthy chair prototypes.
A ribbon of wood
The fact sheet describes the chair's ribbon-like form as challenging conventional chair forms and as standing at the intersection of art and design. In 2023 the chair was named winner in Wallpaper* magazine's Best Sleeper Hits Award, according to the product page.
