Extrasoft Bed

Overview

Living Divani's Extrasoft bed was designed by Piero Lissoni in 2016. A border of soft, regular, stitched volumes runs around the mattress area and turns asymmetrical at the headboard, giving the bed a relaxed character with energy and personality.

Construction

The headboard and bedstead are built from honeycomb panel of poplar and fir. A black-painted steel frame is used for assembly and slat base support, while the bedstead is padded with polyurethane foam and wrapped in needle-treated, resin-finished polyester fibre on a polyamide velveteen backing. The headboard carries differentiated density polyurethane foam topped by a pad of goose down (pre-washed and sterilized) that is stitched in separate compartments. Fabric or leather upholstery is used, and the fabric alone can be removed completely, through Velcro fastenings. The bed stands on adjustable plastic feet.

Soft volumes around the mattress

Extrasoft Bed, from 2016, is Piero Lissoni's design for Living Divani. Stitched, soft and regular volumes form a perimeter around the mattress area, and at the headboard that perimeter turns asymmetrical.

Down-filled headboard

Differentiated density polyurethane foam upholsters the headboard, and a pad of goose down (pre-washed and sterilized) stitched in separate compartments covers it. Beneath the upholstery are honeycomb panel of poplar and fir and a black-painted steel bedstead frame.
