Story

A couch that follows the chair

Knoll's product page says the Barcelona Couch was designed in 1930 and shares the simple elegance of the Barcelona Chair. It presents the couch as a case of Mies's command of line and material in any medium, from architecture to furniture. The cutsheet lists three benefits for the piece: handcrafted construction, leather or fabric, and a timeless Bauhaus-era design.

Where the couch differs

Knoll lists the bolster in matching leather or fabric. On the standard cushion the bolster is secured with straps and lock snaps, while on the relaxed cushion it can be loose or strapped to the cushion platform.
